Milky Way in Achill

Laser pointer tour of the constellations and viewing of some of the most beautiful objects in the Autumn sky through telescopes – the double star Albireo in Cygnus, the Great Globular Cluster M13 in Hercules and the Andromeda Galaxy, among others.

The observing site is the car park of Burrishoole Abbey, 2km from Newport on the N59 towards Mulranny.

This event is free and open to all but depends entirely on the weather – check the Newport Mayo and Mayo Dark Skies Facebook pages before traveling.
