International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) is a world-wide celebration of our nearest neighbour, the Moon! Each year, millions of people across the globe come together to view the Moon and learn about its diverse roles in culture, history, science, and exploration.
To mark the occasion, Friends of Mayo Dark Skies will organise an informal ‘MoonWatch’ gathering. Many aspiring astronomers began their “journey” by observing the moon. We have activities such as a moon map to get to know the moonscape and info for all the family to join in – if you have binoculars, please bring them along (or even better a telescope!).
An open community event – join us or observe from your own back garden.
