Girls Hack Ireland – Wearable tech

Roscommon Women's Network Office October 8, 2016 to October 8, 2016 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Did you know that your clothes can monitor your heart rate, help you exercise or tell how well you’ve slept? This technology can help doctors monitor astronauts in space and keep them healthy and safe.

This Space Week, we’ll be showcasing the fascinating world of electronic textiles and teaching everyone how to create their own piece of wearable tech!  We’ll be using conductive thread, felt, LEDs and battery packs – and you can bring your creation home with you.

Girls Hack Ireland’s aim is to deliver a range of exciting,  creative and supportive workshops to teenage girls aged 13 – 17. Our workshops introduce science, technology, engineering and maths to those who haven’t much experience in the area. Our special focus is on technology – teaching some coding as well as working with sensors and wearable technologies.

Tickets are free but must be booked here
