Location:Online,

We are entering a new age of space exploration! As we venture further into space, we have to make sure our missions are not only safe and successful but also sustainable. Did you know there are around 6,000 satellites still in space, but less than half of them work? All of those old, unused satellites are creating space litter! Or can you believe that the lift-off of one of SpaceX’s rockets emits 336 tonnes of CO2, or the equivalent of driving the average car around the world 70 times? Our use and exploration of outer space is clearly in need of sustainability!

Our first ever, virtual sustainable space event will explore the links between space and sustainability. It will investigate how sustainability is influencing space exploration, where there are opportunities for sustainability in space, and where sustainability is already in use in space. Join us online Saturday October 9th for this FREE, exciting space event! This event is suitable for all ages.
