“It’s time to climb aboard your rocket and venture out into the galaxy in this Space Week special where we discover the influence of Irish women in space travel. Suitable for primary school students, meet Irish astronauts such as Eileen Collins, the first female pilot and commander of a space shuttle and astrophysist Jocelyn Bell Burnell, whose discovery of a new type of star won a Nobel Prize. Then see if you have what it takes to follow in their footsteps by taking part in our interactive space camp – a series of fun sensory and drawing activities designed to let your students experience life in space from their seats in the classroom.
Delivered via Zoom, for this workshop you will need some paper (any colour) and drawing material such as colouring pencils, markers or crayons.
