Polar Star Teacher Event

This event is over.

Date:Tuesday October 5 2021

Time:18:00 - 20:00

Location:Online,

Bring the latest Polar science and Space topics to your classroom with materials from the Erasmus+ funded PolarStar Project.

Student classroom materials are available in both English and Irish, so this may be an opportunity to do some science as Gaeilge.

We will be holding a Polar Star event as part of Space Week, on the evening of Tuesday 5 October (6pm to 8pm) where we will outline the teaching methodology that is based on interdisciplinary learning and “Science as a Whole”, share some of the Star and Polar themed activities, all of which can be found at http://polar-star.ea.gr/.

You may also wish to be considered as one of the “implementation” schools. Implementation schools may choose to
1. Use the PolarStar kit, (one or more of the 10 activities with Polar science or Space themes)
2. Use the PolarStar methodology for everyday teaching (includes science as a whole and assessment methods)
3. Use both the kit and the methodology (all of which can be found at http://polar-star.ea.gr/).

Schools which choose to implement the material in some way are asked to take pictures of their work and track number of students, the activities implemented etc and we’d like to hear from the students – via google forms that they can complete anonymously.

This event for both primary and secondary teachers is free of charge, but registration is essential. Register at https://forms.office.com/r/wXAhX9wxxj (link below)
